Angela Hepworth – Drax
Angela Hepworth is Commercial Director at Drax where she leads on the development of carbon markets, and frameworks for delivering high integrity carbon removals. She is enabling Drax’s ambition to be the leading provider of carbon removals from bio-energy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) from its power station in North Yorkshire and internationally. Prior to that she worked for EDF where she led the development of plans to build a new nuclear power station at Sizewell, before taking up the role of Policy and Regulation Director, providing strategic advice on the energy policy agenda, spanning retail and wholesale issues and the net zero policy framework. She started her career in the civil service in the Department for Trade and Industry, developing and implementing policies in a wide range of areas, including energy security and the development of electricity markets. She is a Powerful Women Ambassador, with a real commitment to enhancing diversity and inclusion in the energy sector.
